August 10, 2010

Okay, obviously I am trying to update this long-neglected blog.  I still have about 6 or so days that I haven't uploaded yet, and they will be filed in between post that I have already put up here so that they are in the correct order, but I have run out of time and have to go to work now.  And yes, I've missed loads of days of photos now.  Maybe I will recommit and start doing a better job from here on out.

July 31, 2010

My parent came to visit and we took them to Alcatraz.  I did a whole post about it on our other blog, so I'm just posting this photo here.  It was chilly in the city, like most summer days there.

This picture is for Nathaniel to prove to him that there are opportunities to speak russian out here.  The old men in this store (which happens to be right be our favorite taqueria) gabbered at me in Russian.  You can buy all sorts of good russian stuff here, I'm sure.

At the nursery by our apartment.  Paul found a cute redwood tree that he wants to buy.

On a Sunday walk with our friends Jason and Ginny.  Jason just ran his firsts full Ironman.  That's Ollie in the stroller and this is the lake just up the trail from where we live.  We walk here almost every day it seems like.

July 24, 2010

Celebrating Pioneer Day at our church.  I made blueberry cupcakes and coconut cupcakes.  They were pretty awesome, if I say so myself.  The blueberry cupcakes and frosting are made from crushed fresh blueberries.  It is the same recipe as my strawberry cupcake recipe.  I still like strawberry best, but the blueberry was a fun change.

This shot of Paul was taken by our friends' little boy Ollie.  I'm shameless when it comes to getting kids to like me by letting them do pretty much whatever they want, even if that means taking photos with my camera while they have sticky fingers.  But when Ollie says "more" or "again" in his tiny voice, I just can't resist.

Me teaching Ollie the art of the self-portrait.

In downtown Campbell for the "Big Bands and BBQ" event.  It was super hot out and kind of disappointing, but we had delicious pulled pork sandwiches from Blue Rock BBQ.

My friend Paige had her baby boy Ben today.  He is darling and this is definitely the youngest infant I have ever held.  I think he was about 6 or 7 hours old in this photo.

and unwrapping presents.

June 22, 2010

Today is Paul's birthday eve and it is time for me to catch up on some past-due 365 blogging.  Only I don't have so many photos to post.  Boo me.

I tried to rid my hair of the blondness last Saturday.  I like it - it is closer to my natural color, kind of a caramelly brown.

June 13, 2010

My dad holding his one and only granddaughter.  He was watching golf and she was watching the camera.
I love how in this photo you can see my dad cracking up watching Emma eat.  She opens her mouth like a little bird as soon as she sees the spoon coming out of the bowl.  It is hilarious, but my dad getting the giggles is even more hilarious, which anyone who has heard him giggle can attest to.  Emma is looking at him like "Grandpa, what is wrong with you?"
She was supposed to be napping but woke up.  Jennie was playing Phase 10 with my parents, so I tried to put Emma back to sleep.  It never worked, but we spent a peaceful half an hour together with her just gazing placidly up at me.

June 11, 2010

It was fun having Friday off of work and being able to spend time with family.

Like this girl.  She loved her applesauce.

And it was fun seeing my sister and going out to lunch at Noodles.  Emma was so good the whole time.
Paul and I stayed at Dave and Deborah's house which is they remodeled.  It is gorgeous.  Paul helped install these floors.  Unfortunately, I stepped through a heating vent and cut up my leg.  It bled a lot, but I didn't cry.  Paul played doctor on my leg.  One thing I love about him is that he loves to take care of me when I am sick or hurt or sad, even though I tell him to get away from me.
